Possible Causes
Tripped breaker or GFCI feeding PowerFlo, Faulty timer or switch controlling PowerFlo, Loose or broken wire at PowerFlo motor terminal, Failed internal thermal protector stuck open
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use caution when working around electrical panels. Turn off main power if removing covers.
- Check breakers and GFCI: Inspect the pool sub-panel and any GFCI outlets. Reset tripped devices once. If they immediately trip again, stop and diagnose further.
- Bypass timer (for testing): If the PowerFlo is controlled by a mechanical or digital timer, set it to manual ON or temporarily bypass it to test if the pump runs directly.
- Inspect wiring: With power off, remove the motor wiring cover on the PowerFlo and check that all connections are tight and wires are intact.
- Test voltage at motor: If qualified, measure voltage at the motor terminals when the switch is ON. If correct voltage is present and the motor is silent, the motor or its internal protector may have failed and the motor should be replaced.
