Water is leaking from the clear lid area on the Hayward PowerFlo pump during operation.

Safety first: Turn off the pump before removing the lid.

• Clean sealing surfaces: Remove the lid and O-ring. Wipe the groove and mating surface on the PowerFlo housing to remove sand, grit, or leaves.
• Inspect O-ring: Check for cuts, flat spots, or stretching. Replace with a genuine PowerFlo lid O-ring if damaged.
• Lubricate O-ring: Apply a thin coat of silicone-based pool lube to help the O-ring seat and seal properly.
• Inspect lid: Look for cracks around the threads or handle. Replace the lid if any cracks are present.
• Reinstall correctly: Thread the lid on by hand only, ensuring it is not cross-threaded. Tighten until snug; do not overtighten.
