Water is leaking from the drain plug area at the bottom of the Hayward PowerFlo pump housing.

Safety first: Turn off the pump and close valves or plug lines to minimize water loss.

• Tighten plug: Try gently tightening the drain plug by hand, then a small additional turn with a suitable tool. Do not overtighten.
• Inspect gasket: Remove the plug and inspect the rubber or fiber gasket. Replace if it is cracked, flattened, or missing.
• Check threads: Inspect the threads on both the plug and the PowerFlo housing. If the housing threads are stripped, you may need to replace the housing or use a manufacturer-approved repair fitting.
• Reinstall and test: Reinstall the plug with a new gasket, fill the pump with water, and run it to confirm the leak is resolved.
