Pump leaks at the union connections on the inlet or outlet of the Hayward pump.

Safety first: Turn off power and close valves before loosening unions.

• Loosen and inspect: Unscrew the leaking union and inspect the O-ring or gasket for cuts or flattening. Clean both mating surfaces.
• Replace gasket: Install a new Hayward-compatible union O-ring or gasket if damaged.
• Align plumbing: Ensure the pipes are properly aligned and not putting side pressure on the union when tightened.
• Hand-tighten: Reassemble the union and hand-tighten firmly. Avoid using tools that may overtighten and crack the nut.
