Pump leaks water at the clear lid on top of the Hayward pump strainer.

Safety first: Turn off power before opening the pump lid.

• Inspect O-ring: Remove the lid and examine the O-ring for cracks, flattening, or cuts. Replace if damaged.
• Clean surfaces: Wipe the lid and pump housing sealing surfaces clean of sand, dirt, and debris.
• Lubricate O-ring: Apply a thin coat of pool-safe silicone lubricant to the O-ring to improve sealing and ease of installation.
• Reinstall lid: Seat the lid evenly and tighten by hand until snug. Do not overtighten, as this can warp the lid.
• Replace lid if needed: If the lid is cracked or warped, replace it with a Hayward OEM lid.
