Possible Causes

Faulty Hurlcon flow switch, Stuck pressure switch, Wiring fault to sensor, Sensor installed backwards

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power and close valves before removing any sensor from the plumbing.

  • Check orientation: Verify the arrow on the Hurlcon flow switch body points in the direction of water flow.
  • Inspect wiring: Ensure the sensor cable is intact and firmly plugged into the controller.
  • Clean sensor: Remove the flow switch or pressure switch and gently clean any scale or debris from the paddle or diaphragm. Do not bend delicate parts.
  • Bypass test (technician only): Temporarily bridge the sensor terminals to confirm if the sensor is faulty. Do not leave bypassed in normal operation.

If E3 clears when bypassed, replace the Hurlcon flow or pressure switch with an identical part.
