Possible Causes
Damaged Hurlcon control PCB, Loose low-voltage harness between controller and motor, Corroded connector pins, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before opening any control enclosures.
- Power cycle: Turn off the breaker for 2–3 minutes, then restore power and see if the F5 clears.
- Inspect control cable: Trace the low-voltage cable from the Hurlcon controller to the motor terminal box. Check for cuts, rodent damage, or crushed sections. Ensure plugs are fully seated.
- Check for moisture: Open the controller housing (if user-accessible) and look for signs of water ingress or corrosion on the PCB. Dry gently with a cloth and allow to air dry if damp.
- Try manual mode: If the controller has a MANUAL or SERVICE mode, attempt to start the pump from that mode to bypass timers.
If F5 persists, the Hurlcon control PCB or motor interface board is likely damaged and should be replaced by a qualified pool technician or electrician.
