Possible Causes
Worn start relay on Hurlcon control PCB, Burnt output triac or transistor, Repeated high-load switching, Surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before opening the control box. High voltages are present.
- Listen for relay: With the cover on and power restored, command the pump to start and listen for a click. No click suggests relay failure.
- Visual inspection: With power off, remove the control PCB cover and look for burnt spots, cracked solder joints, or swollen components.
- Check load: Ensure the pump is not mechanically jammed (check impeller rotation by hand) which can overload the relay.
There is no safe DIY repair for a failed relay or output stage. The Hurlcon control PCB should be replaced as a complete unit by a technician.
