Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and wait for all moving parts to stop. Capacitors can hold charge; do not touch terminals.
- Check shaft rotation: With power off, remove the rear motor cover and try to spin the cooling fan by hand. It should turn freely.
- Inspect for jam: Remove pump lid and basket, then check impeller for obstructions.
- Capacitor replacement (technician recommended): The start capacitor is usually in a cylindrical housing on the motor. It must be discharged and replaced with an identical µF and voltage rating component.
Running a humming pump can overheat and damage the motor. If you are not experienced with capacitors, have a technician replace the Hurlcon motor capacitor.
