Possible Causes
Normal inverter switching noise, Loose motor laminations, Resonance in mounting base or pipework
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Keep clear of moving parts while the pump is running.
- Check mounting: Ensure the pump is securely mounted and that the base is not acting as a sounding board. Add rubber pads if necessary.
- Adjust speed: Slightly change the programmed speed to move away from the resonant frequency.
- Inspect for loose parts: Check motor fan cover, terminal box, and controller housing for loose screws.
If the whine is excessive or accompanied by overheating, have the Hurlcon drive and motor checked.
