Possible Causes

Clogged Intex filter cartridge, Closed or partially closed inlet/outlet valves, Air leak on suction side, Blocked skimmer or suction fitting

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the pump before opening the filter housing or disconnecting hoses.

  • Clean or replace filter cartridge: Open the Intex filter housing, remove the cartridge, and hose it off thoroughly from top to bottom. If the cartridge is heavily stained or deformed, replace it with a new Intex Type A/B filter cartridge or the type specified for your model.
  • Check valves and hoses: Ensure all Intex plunger valves at the pool wall are fully open. Inspect hoses for kinks or collapses.
  • Remove obstructions: Check the pool inlet and outlet fittings and any skimmer attachments for leaves, toys, or debris blocking flow.
  • Bleed air: Use the air release valve on top of the filter housing to purge trapped air until water flows steadily. Re-tighten the valve.
  • Restart and monitor: Plug the pump back in and run it. If E10 recurs quickly, the flow sensor (if equipped) or internal passages may be restricted and require further cleaning or sensor replacement.
