Possible Causes
Faulty flow sensor, Scale or debris on flow switch paddle, Loose flow sensor wiring, Incorrect flow sensor orientation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the pump. Close any valves before removing the flow sensor.
- Locate the flow sensor: On Intex combo units (e.g., sand filter with saltwater system), the flow sensor is typically installed in a clear or opaque housing on the return line.
- Inspect for debris: Remove the sensor assembly and check the paddle or magnetic float for sand, scale, or debris that may prevent free movement. Clean gently with water and a soft brush.
- Check orientation: Ensure the flow sensor is installed in the correct direction (arrow on body matching water flow direction) and not upside down.
- Verify wiring: Inspect the sensor cable for cuts or kinks and ensure the connector is fully seated on the control board.
- Replace sensor: If E11 persists after cleaning and reseating, replace the Intex flow sensor assembly compatible with your model.
