Pump runs but pressure on the Intex pressure gauge (sand filter models) is very high.

Safety first: Turn off and unplug the pump before changing valve positions or opening the filter.

• Backwash or clean filter: On sand filters, set the multiport valve to BACKWASH and run until water in the sight glass is clear, then RINSE and return to FILTER. On cartridge systems, clean or replace the filter cartridge.
• Check valves and fittings: Ensure all return valves are fully open and that return fittings are not blocked by debris.
• Monitor gauge: After cleaning, note the normal clean-filter pressure. Backwash or clean again whenever pressure rises 8–10 psi above this baseline.
