Jandy variable-speed pump drive or controller shows ERR or ERROR and pump will not run.

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before opening any electrical covers. If you see signs of burning or melted plastic, do not attempt further DIY repair.

• Power cycle the system:
  • Turn off the breaker feeding the Jandy pump for at least 2 minutes.
  • Turn the breaker back on and check if the error clears.
• Verify supply voltage:
  • Confirm the pump is wired for the correct voltage (115V or 230V) as specified on the Jandy nameplate.
  • If you are qualified and have a multimeter, measure line voltage at the pump terminals; otherwise, have an electrician check.
• Inspect for moisture:
  • Check the drive/control housing for condensation or water ingress.
  • If moisture is present, dry the area, improve weather protection, and consider replacing the drive if corrosion is visible.
• Check communication/control wiring:
  • If the pump is controlled by a Jandy AquaLink system, inspect the RS-485 communication cable for damage or loose connections.
• If ERR persists: The drive/control module is likely defective. Replacement of the drive or entire pump assembly is recommended and should be performed by a qualified technician.
