Possible Causes

No power to pump, Failed relay in AquaLink, Faulty pump motor, Communication failure between AquaLink and pump

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before opening the AquaLink panel or pump electrical cover.

  • Verify pump power:
    • Check that the pump breaker is ON.
    • Confirm any service switches near the pump are in the RUN or AUTO position.
  • Test pump locally:
    • If the pump has a local keypad, try starting it manually.
    • If it runs locally but not from AquaLink, the issue is with automation or communication.
  • Inspect AquaLink relay (for single-speed pumps):
    • Open the AquaLink panel and locate the filter pump relay.
    • Look for signs of burning or pitting; replace the relay if damaged.
  • Check RS-485 communication (for VS pumps):
    • Inspect and reseat the RS-485 cable between AquaLink and the pump.
  • If PUMP FAIL persists: The pump motor or AquaLink main board may be defective. Professional diagnosis is recommended.
