How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before opening the pump. Running dry can damage seals and impeller.

Inspect and lubricate lid O-ring:
- Remove the Jandy pump lid, clean the O-ring and sealing surface, and apply silicone-based pool lube.
Tighten suction fittings:
- Check and tighten unions and threaded fittings on the suction side.
Open valves and clear baskets:
- Ensure all suction valves are open.
- Clean skimmer and pump baskets.
Prime the pump:
- Fill the pump housing with water, reinstall lid, open air relief on filter, and restart the pump.
If prime is repeatedly lost: There may be a suction-side leak underground or a partially blocked line. Professional pressure testing is recommended.

Pump is running but there is no water movement and the pump basket does not fill with water.
