Loose union nut, Damaged union O-ring, Misaligned plumbing, Cracked union body
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close valves before loosening unions. Expect some water spillage.
- Tighten unions:
- Hand-tighten the union nuts on both suction and discharge sides.
- Inspect O-rings:
- Loosen the union, remove and inspect the O-ring for cuts or flattening.
- Replace with Jandy-compatible union O-rings if damaged.
- Check alignment:
- Ensure plumbing is not putting side-load on the union; adjust supports if necessary.
- Replace cracked unions:
- If the union body is cracked, cut out and replace with a new Jandy union kit.
