Overheating Motor Under Load
Pump motor housing is excessively hot to the touch even though it is running normally.

Possible Causes
High ambient temperature, Restricted ventilation, Pump running at maximum speed continuously, High system backpressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the motor to cool before touching it. Some warmth is normal; too hot to touch for more than a second is excessive.
- Improve airflow:
- Clear debris and obstructions around the motor.
- Provide shade or ventilation if in an enclosed area.
- Reduce load:
- Clean/backwash filter to lower system pressure.
- On VS pumps, reduce RPM and use longer run times instead of high speed for short periods.
- Monitor operation:
- If overheating persists, motor insulation may be degrading; plan for motor replacement.
