Possible Causes
Clogged filter media or cartridges, Closed or partially closed return valves, Blocked return lines, Undersized plumbing for pump output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off pump and use the filter air relief valve to release pressure before opening any filter or plumbing.
- Clean/backwash filter:
- Backwash DE/sand filters or clean cartridges thoroughly.
- Open return valves:
- Ensure all Jandy return valves are fully open.
- Check for blocked returns:
- Inspect return fittings in the pool for obstructions.
- Adjust pump speed (VS pumps):
- Reduce RPM to lower system pressure while maintaining adequate flow.
- If pressure remains high: Have a technician evaluate plumbing size and check for hidden restrictions or check valves installed backwards.
