How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off pump and use the filter air relief valve to release pressure before opening any filter or plumbing.

  • Clean/backwash filter:
    • Backwash DE/sand filters or clean cartridges thoroughly.
  • Open return valves:
    • Ensure all Jandy return valves are fully open.
  • Check for blocked returns:
    • Inspect return fittings in the pool for obstructions.
  • Adjust pump speed (VS pumps):
    • Reduce RPM to lower system pressure while maintaining adequate flow.
  • If pressure remains high: Have a technician evaluate plumbing size and check for hidden restrictions or check valves installed backwards.
