Pump will not start, control panel shows E01 immediately after pressing START.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the pool subpanel breaker and lock it out before opening any electrical box. Verify power is off with a multimeter if you are qualified; otherwise, call a professional.
Steps to check:
- Inspect incoming power: Open the Kripsol control box or electrical junction box feeding the pump. With power on (only if you are trained), measure voltage at the pump input terminals. It should match the nameplate (typically 230 V single-phase). If voltage is more than ~10% low, contact an electrician.
- Check terminal tightness: With power off, tighten all line and neutral terminals on the Kripsol control board and at the pump motor terminal block. Look for heat discoloration or melted insulation.
- Inspect main switch: If your Kripsol pump uses an external Kripsol-branded control panel with a rotary or rocker main switch, cycle it several times and check for burnt contacts or looseness. Replace if it feels sloppy or shows signs of arcing.
- Controller board: If supply voltage is correct and connections are tight, the internal low-voltage power supply on the Kripsol controller PCB may be faulty. Remove the front cover (power off), inspect for burnt components or bulged capacitors. Replacement of the controller PCB is usually required.
When to stop: If you are not comfortable working around live 230 V circuits or the E01 returns after tightening connections, contact a qualified pool technician or electrician.
