- Check for moisture: Look for condensation or water marks inside the keypad area. If present, dry thoroughly and improve sealing (replace gasket, check cable glands).
- Visual inspection: Examine the keypad for cracks or delamination. If buttons feel mushy or do not click, the membrane may be failing and should be replaced.
- PCB fault: If E12 persists with a known-good keypad and cable, the main controller PCB is likely defective and must be replaced.
