Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and wait several minutes before opening the control housing to allow capacitors to discharge.
- Power cycle: Turn off the breaker for at least 5 minutes, then restore power and see if E13 clears. This can reset minor firmware glitches.
- Inspect PCB: Remove the control cover and visually inspect the Kripsol controller PCB for burnt areas, cracked components, or bulged capacitors. Any visible damage indicates the board should be replaced.
- Check surge protection: If the pump is not protected by a surge suppressor, consider adding one to the pool equipment subpanel to prevent future damage.
- Firmware/service: Some Kripsol models may allow firmware reloading via service tools; this must be done by an authorized service center.
If E13 remains after a power cycle and no obvious external cause is found, replacement of the controller PCB or complete drive module is usually required.
