Possible Causes
Minor leak at Kripsol pump lid O-ring, Loose suction union, Micro-cracks in suction fittings, Air leak at drain plug on pump housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the pump before tightening or removing any fittings.
- Inspect lid and O-ring: Clean and lubricate the Kripsol pump lid O-ring and ensure the lid is tightened evenly.
- Check unions and plugs: Tighten suction-side unions and verify that the pump drain plugs are snug and have intact gaskets.
- Perform a leak test: With the pump running, smear a small amount of shaving cream around suspected joints. Watch for spots where the cream is sucked in, indicating an air leak.
- Repair or replace fittings: Replace any cracked fittings or unions. For persistent leaks in glued joints, the affected section of pipe may need to be cut out and re-plumbed.
