Possible Causes
Tripped breaker or GFCI feeding Kripsol pump, Faulty Kripsol pump on/off switch or time clock, Loose or burnt wire at motor terminal block, Failed motor thermal protector stuck open
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the main breaker before opening any electrical enclosures.
- Check breakers and GFCI: Verify that the pool pump breaker and any GFCI outlets or breakers are ON and not tripped. Reset if necessary and see if the pump starts.
- Inspect external controls: If the pump is controlled by a Kripsol time clock or automation relay, bypass the control temporarily by wiring the pump directly to a known-good power source (only if qualified) to rule out control failure.
- Motor wiring: Remove the motor terminal cover and inspect for loose, burnt, or disconnected wires. Tighten terminals and repair any damaged conductors.
- Thermal protector: Some motors have an internal reset button; allow the motor to cool for 30–60 minutes and try again. If still dead, the thermal protector or windings may be open, requiring motor replacement.
If you are not comfortable working with 230 V circuits, have a licensed electrician or pool technician diagnose the no-start condition.
