Possible Causes

Incorrect phase sequence at motor terminals, Miswired contactor outputs, Recent reconnection of supply without marking phases

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Work on three‑phase wiring only if you are trained and authorized. Isolate power before touching conductors.

  • Confirm symptom: Some Lowara drives detect reverse rotation and show E05 before allowing the motor to run. Others may allow running but with poor performance.
  • Swap phases: With power OFF, swap any two of the three motor leads at the drive output or contactor (e.g. interchange T1 and T2). Do not change the supply side phases unless instructed by a qualified electrician.
  • Check pump performance: After restoring power, clear the fault and start the pump. Verify correct flow and pressure and that no abnormal noise occurs.
  • Label conductors: Once correct rotation is confirmed, label the phase sequence to prevent future errors.
  • When to call a pro: If E05 persists even with correct wiring, the drive’s rotation detection circuit may be faulty and the drive module may require replacement.
