Possible Causes
Voltage drop due to undersized supply cable, Loose neutral or phase connection, Overloaded supply circuit shared with other heavy loads, Utility brownouts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before tightening any terminals. Use a properly rated multimeter.
- Measure running voltage: Start the pump and measure voltage at the pump terminals under load. If it drops significantly below the nameplate value, investigate the supply.
- Check cable sizing: Compare installed cable size and run length with Lowara’s recommendations. Upgrade to a larger gauge if voltage drop exceeds acceptable limits.
- Inspect connections: Tighten all line and neutral terminals in the distribution board, contactor, and pump control box.
- Dedicated circuit: Ensure the pump is on a dedicated circuit not shared with large appliances that cause dips.
- When to call a pro: If supply issues cannot be corrected locally, consult an electrician or the utility. Persistent E08 with correct voltage may indicate a faulty voltage sensing circuit in the drive.
