Pump runs but filter pressure is very high and return jets are weak

Safety first: Turn off pump before changing valve positions or opening filter.

• Backwash or clean filter: If using a sand or DE filter, perform a full backwash and rinse. For cartridge filters, remove and clean or replace cartridges.
• Check valves: Ensure all return valves and the multiport valve are in the correct positions for normal filtration.
• Inspect return lines: Look for obvious kinks or blockages in visible pipework. If underground lines are blocked, professional assistance may be required.
• Verify pump sizing: Confirm the Lowara pump is correctly sized for the filter and plumbing. Oversized pumps can cause high pressure.
