Possible Causes

Small stone or hard debris in impeller, broken piece of diffuser, cracked motor fan blade

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate power before inspection.

  • Check wet end: Remove the pump housing cover and inspect the impeller and diffuser for loose pieces or foreign objects. Remove debris and replace broken parts.
  • Inspect motor fan: At the rear of the Onga motor, check the plastic fan for broken blades rubbing on the shroud. Replace the fan if damaged.

After reassembly, run the pump and listen. Persistent knocking may indicate a bent shaft requiring motor replacement.
