Possible Causes
Broken impeller vanes, loose diffuser, stones or hard debris in volute, worn wear ring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power and relieve pressure before opening the pump.
- Inspect basket: Check that the Onga pump basket is intact and not cracked, allowing debris to pass through.
- Open wet end: Remove the pump housing cover to access the impeller and diffuser.
- Remove debris: Clear any stones, tiles, or other hard objects from around the impeller and volute.
- Check components: Inspect the impeller for cracks or missing vanes and ensure the diffuser is firmly seated. Replace damaged parts with genuine Onga components.
Reassemble carefully, ensuring all O-rings are seated, then prime and test. Persistent rattling may indicate internal wear requiring further part replacement.
