Possible Causes
Defective Pahlén flow switch, Loose wiring to flow sensor, Air trapped in pump or filter, Scale or debris on flow sensor paddle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power and close valves before removing any sensor from the plumbing.
- Bleed air: Open the air relief valve on the filter until a steady stream of water flows. Air pockets can cause erratic flow readings.
- Inspect sensor wiring: Locate the flow sensor or pressure switch used by the Pahlén controller. Check that the connector is fully seated and that the cable is not damaged or pinched.
- Clean the sensor: If accessible, remove the flow sensor from its tee fitting. Rinse off scale, sand, or debris from the paddle or probe. Do not use abrasive tools that could damage the sensor.
- Reinstall correctly: Ensure the sensor arrow aligns with the direction of water flow and that any O-rings are intact and lubricated.
- Reset and test: Restore power, clear E06 on the control panel, and verify that the pump runs continuously without the error returning.
If E06 persists, the flow sensor itself may need replacement with a compatible Pahlén part.
