Pahlén pool pump is running but is very noisy with a rattling or cavitation sound and visible air in the pump lid

Safety first: Turn off the pump before tightening fittings or opening the lid.

• Inspect water level: Ensure the pool water level is high enough to prevent vortexing at the skimmer.
• Check suction fittings: Tighten all unions and threaded fittings on the suction side of the Pahlén pump. Replace any cracked fittings or O-rings.
• Clear obstructions: Clean skimmer baskets and verify that main drain covers are not blocked.
• Reprime the pump: Fill the pump housing with water, close the lid securely, and bleed air from the filter. Restart and observe for a solid water column with minimal bubbles.
