Pahlén pool pump runs but the pressure on the filter gauge is unusually high

Safety first: Turn off the pump before changing valve positions or opening the filter.

• Backwash or clean filter: Follow Pahlén or filter manufacturer instructions to backwash sand or clean/replace cartridges until pressure returns to normal.
• Open valves: Ensure all return and bypass valves are fully open and that no actuator is stuck in a partially closed position.
• Inspect returns: Check pool return fittings for obstructions such as leaves or toys.
• Monitor pressure: After cleaning and opening valves, restart the Pahlén pump and verify that pressure is within the normal operating range indicated in your system documentation.
