Pahlén pool pump runs but the pressure on the filter gauge is very low and suction at skimmer is weak

Safety first: Turn off the pump before opening any part of the suction line.

• Clean skimmer lines: Remove baskets and use a suitable hose or line cleaner to clear obstructions from skimmer pipes.
• Check for air leaks: With the pump running (briefly), look for air bubbles under the Pahlén pump lid and in the pool returns. Then stop the pump and tighten suction-side unions and lid.
• Inspect impeller: Open the pump wet end and clean any debris from the impeller eye and vanes.
• Replace damaged hose: If flexible suction hose is kinked or collapsed, replace it with rigid PVC or new hose of the correct size.
