Possible Causes

Corrupted drive firmware, Failed low‑voltage power supply on control board, Moisture intrusion into drive housing, Damaged control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before opening any covers. Electronic troubleshooting beyond visual inspection should be done by a qualified technician.

  • Power cycle: Turn off the breaker feeding the Sta‑Rite pump for at least 5 minutes to allow the drive to fully discharge. Restore power and see if the error clears.
  • Inspect for moisture: Remove the drive cover. Look for condensation, water tracks, or corrosion on the PCB. If moisture is present, identify and correct the source (leaking plumbing above, rain intrusion, failed gasket) and allow the unit to dry completely.
  • Check gasket and seals: Inspect the drive cover gasket and any cable glands for cracks or gaps. Replace damaged seals to prevent future moisture ingress.
  • Look for burnt components: Examine the board for burnt spots, bulging capacitors, or broken components. Visible damage usually means the drive must be replaced, not repaired in the field.
  • Firmware / reset: Some models allow a factory reset via keypad. Consult the Sta‑Rite IntelliPro VS‑SR manual for reset procedure. If E06 persists, replace the drive control module.
