• Clean suction sources: Remove and clean skimmer and pump baskets. Check main drain covers for blockage.
• Check water level: Maintain pool water level high enough to keep skimmers from drawing air.
• Reduce pump speed: On variable‑speed Sta‑Rite pumps, lower the RPM to reduce suction vacuum and cavitation.
• Evaluate installation: If the pump is installed significantly above the water level or with long, undersized suction runs, consult a pool professional about re‑piping or relocating the pump.
