Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before performing any hard resets if recommended by Pentair.
Steps to resolve configuration errors:
- 1. Review user programming: Check all programmed speeds, schedules, and external control settings. Remove overlapping or conflicting schedules.
- 2. Restore factory defaults: Using the keypad, follow the Pentair SuperFlo VS manual to reset the pump to factory default settings. Reprogram only essential speeds and schedules.
- 3. Power cycle: After resetting, turn the breaker OFF for 1–2 minutes, then back ON. Verify if E09 clears.
- 4. Check for firmware notes: Consult Pentair technical bulletins or support to see if your model has known firmware issues that require an update or replacement drive.
If E09 persists after a factory reset and proper programming, the control board may be defective and the drive assembly may need replacement.
