Possible Causes
Loose drain plugs, Missing or damaged O-rings, Cross-threaded plugs, Cracked pump housing at plug port
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close valves before working on drain plugs.
- 1. Tighten plugs: Gently tighten the drain plugs by hand or with a suitable tool. Do not overtighten, as this can crack the housing.
- 2. Inspect O-rings: Remove the plugs and check the O-rings for cracks, flattening, or missing sections. Replace with correct-size O-rings if damaged.
- 3. Check threads and housing: Inspect the threads on the plug and in the housing. If the housing is cracked, the pump housing may need replacement.
- 4. Reinstall and test: Reinstall plugs with new O-rings, fill the pump with water, and run the pump while observing for leaks.
