Pump makes a loud rattling or grinding noise and flow is reduced.

Safety first: Turn off power and close suction and return valves before disassembling the pump.

• 1. Inspect pump basket: Remove the lid and basket. If the basket is cracked or missing pieces, replace it; debris may have reached the impeller.
• 2. Access the impeller: Remove the clamp band or housing bolts to separate the motor from the pump housing. Carefully pull the motor/impeller assembly out.
• 3. Clear debris: Inspect the impeller eye and vanes for rocks, plastic, or other debris. Remove all foreign material. Spin the impeller by hand to ensure it turns freely.
• 4. Check for damage: If vanes are broken or heavily worn, replace the impeller with a compatible Pentair SuperFlo impeller.
• 5. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the diffuser, O-rings, and motor assembly. Prime the pump and restore power. Verify noise and flow have improved.
