Possible Causes
Moisture in motor or junction box, Deteriorated motor insulation, Damaged power cord or conduit wiring, Incorrect bonding or grounding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and do not bypass GFCI protection.
- 1. Inspect for moisture: Check the motor, conduit entry, and junction box for water. Dry thoroughly and correct any sources of water intrusion.
- 2. Examine wiring: Look for nicks, crushed insulation, or exposed copper in the wiring to the pump. Repair or replace damaged conductors.
- 3. Verify bonding and grounding: Ensure the bonding lug on the SuperFlo is connected to the pool bonding grid and that the equipment is properly grounded.
- 4. Test with another GFCI (if safe): If possible, have an electrician test the pump on a known-good GFCI circuit to rule out a faulty breaker.
If trips continue after external issues are corrected, the motor/drive insulation may be compromised and the assembly should be replaced.
