Possible Causes
Supply voltage sag below acceptable threshold, Undersized wiring causing voltage drop, Loose lugs at breaker or pump, Overloaded service panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Only qualified personnel should measure live voltage.
- Step 1 – Verify voltage at pump: Have an electrician measure the line voltage at the pump terminals during startup. Compare to Pentair’s specified range.
- Step 2 – Inspect and tighten connections: With power OFF, tighten all terminal screws at the breaker, junction boxes, and pump. Look for discoloration or melted insulation.
- Step 3 – Evaluate wire size: Confirm that the wire gauge is appropriate for the run length and pump amperage. Upgrade wiring if voltage drop exceeds 3–5%.
- Step 4 – Dedicated circuit: Move the pump to a dedicated breaker if it currently shares with other heavy loads.
- Step 5 – Clear alarm: After corrections, cycle power to clear Alarm 001 and test operation.
