Possible Causes
Worn motor bearings, Imbalanced or damaged impeller, Pump not securely anchored, Air in pump causing intermittent cavitation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before touching the pump or plumbing.
- Step 1 – Check mounting: Ensure the pump base is securely anchored to a solid pad using appropriate mounting hardware.
- Step 2 – Bleed air: Open air relief on the filter (if present) and ensure the pump basket is fully flooded with water to remove trapped air.
- Step 3 – Inspect impeller: If vibration persists, disassemble the wet end and inspect the impeller for broken vanes or debris causing imbalance. Replace if damaged.
- Step 4 – Evaluate bearings: Listen for bearing noise. If bearings are noisy and vibration is significant, replace the motor/drive assembly.
