Pump lid is difficult to remove or install, or air leaks appear around the lid on a Pentair pump.

Safety first: Turn off pump before removing the lid.

• Step 1 – Clean sealing surfaces: Remove the lid and O‑ring. Clean the groove and mating surface with a soft cloth.
• Step 2 – Inspect and replace O‑ring: Replace the O‑ring if it is swollen, cracked, or flattened. Use only Pentair‑approved O‑rings.
• Step 3 – Lubricate O‑ring: Apply a thin coat of silicone‑based lubricant to the new O‑ring to ease installation and improve sealing.
• Step 4 – Check lid condition: If the lid is warped or crazed, replace it with the correct Pentair lid for your pump model.
