Pump runs but water leaks from the drain plugs at the bottom of the Pentair pump housing.

Safety first: Turn off pump and relieve pressure before removing drain plugs.

• Step 1 – Tighten plugs: Hand‑tighten the drain plugs. Do not overtighten, as this can crack the housing.
• Step 2 – Inspect O‑rings: Remove the plugs and inspect the small O‑rings. Replace any that are cracked, flattened, or missing.
• Step 3 – Use thread sealant if needed: Apply a small amount of Teflon tape or thread sealant compatible with plastics if threads are slightly worn (avoid overuse).
• Step 4 – Replace housing if cracked: If the pump housing threads are cracked from freeze damage, the entire housing may need replacement.
