Possible Causes
Failed inverter drive board, Overheating of electronics, Moisture intrusion into drive housing, Surge or lightning damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and verify no voltage is present before opening the drive housing.
- Inspect for moisture: Remove the drive cover and look for condensation, corrosion, or water marks. If moisture is present, dry thoroughly and identify the source of the leak (gaskets, conduit entries).
- Check ventilation: Ensure the pump is installed with adequate airflow around the drive housing and not in direct sun without shade, which can cause overheating.
- Reset drive: Some Raypak pumps allow a factory reset via the keypad. Follow the manual to reset and clear dE.
- Replace drive module: If dE returns immediately and no external cause is found, the drive board is likely failed. Replace the motor/drive assembly or the drive module per Raypak service instructions.
