Possible Causes
Low system pressure due to dirty filter, Incorrect pressure switch adjustment, Failed pressure switch diaphragm, Blocked heater inlet or outlet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and relieve water pressure before removing any pressure switch or plumbing components.
- Restore normal pressure: Clean or backwash the pool filter and ensure all valves are fully open. Check for obvious leaks on the suction side that could reduce pressure.
- Inspect heater unions: Make sure the inlet and outlet unions at the Raypak manifold are fully tightened and gaskets are intact, preventing air from entering.
- Check pressure switch tubing: Some Raypak models use a small tube from the manifold to the pressure switch. Inspect for kinks, cracks, or blockages and clear or replace as needed.
- Adjust or replace switch: If your model has an adjustable pressure switch, follow the Raypak manual to set it correctly (usually with a small screw). If adjustment does not help, replace the pressure switch.
