Possible Causes
Failed fan motor, Bad fan capacitor, Obstructed fan blade, Loose wiring to fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and verify the fan cannot start unexpectedly before working near the blades.
- Check for obstructions: Inspect the fan blade for sticks, leaves, or ice preventing rotation. Remove any obstructions.
- Spin test: With power off, spin the fan blade by hand. If it is stiff or grinding, the motor bearings may be failed.
- Inspect capacitor: Locate the fan capacitor in the electrical compartment. Test capacitance and replace if out of spec.
- Verify wiring: Check all fan motor connections for tightness and signs of overheating. Repair as needed.
- Replace fan motor: If the motor does not run with a good capacitor and proper voltage, replace the Raypak fan motor assembly.
