- Verify mode and setpoint: Ensure the Raypak controller is in HEAT mode (not COOL or OFF) and that the set temperature is above current water temperature.
- Check valve positions: Confirm that water is actually flowing through the Raypak heat pump and not bypassing it. Adjust any 3‑way valves so that most flow passes through the heater.
- Clean coils: Remove debris from the evaporator (air intake) and condenser coils. Good airflow is essential for heat transfer.
- Monitor temperature rise: Measure water temperature at inlet and outlet. A very small or zero temperature rise with long run times may indicate a refrigerant issue; contact a Raypak‑qualified HVAC technician.
