Safety first: Turn off power before opening the pump or working on plumbing.

• Restore water level: Ensure pool water is at least halfway up the skimmer opening.
• Inspect lid O‑ring: Remove the pump lid, clean the O‑ring and groove, and apply a thin coat of silicone‑based lubricant. Replace the O‑ring if flattened or cracked.
• Tighten unions and plugs: Hand‑tighten suction‑side unions and verify that winterizing plugs or drain plugs are properly sealed.
• Check for visible cracks: Examine the suction pipe and fittings for hairline cracks that can draw air. Replace any damaged fittings.
• Re‑prime: Fill the pump housing with water, replace the lid, and restart the pump. Observe for stable prime.
