Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM on Rheem control board, Incomplete firmware update, Electrical noise or surges affecting memory, Aging control electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF power before removing any covers.
- Power cycle: Turn OFF the breaker for at least 5 minutes to fully discharge the control. Restore power and observe if E11 clears.
- Factory reset: Use the Rheem keypad to perform a full factory reset. Re‑enter all schedules, speeds, and configuration parameters.
- Check grounding: Ensure the pump and control are properly bonded and grounded per Rheem instructions. Poor grounding can increase electrical noise.
- Update firmware (if supported): If Rheem provides firmware updates via USB or service tool, update to the latest version following their procedure.
- Replace control board: If E11 persists after reset and firmware update, the EEPROM or microcontroller is likely defective and the control board should be replaced.
