Possible Causes

Tripped breaker or GFCI feeding Rheem pump, Failed external timer or interlock, Loose line connections at pump terminal block, Defective Rheem control module power supply

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Use a non‑contact tester and multimeter carefully; turn OFF power before tightening any connections.

  • Check breakers and GFCI: Inspect the pool sub‑panel and reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets feeding the pump.
  • Bypass external timer: If a mechanical or digital timer is used, set it to ON or temporarily bypass it to see if the pump starts.
  • Verify voltage at pump: Remove the Rheem pump terminal cover and, with power ON, measure voltage at the LINE terminals. If no voltage is present, trace back to the panel or timer.
  • Inspect internal fuses: Some Rheem controls have internal fuses. With power OFF, check and replace any blown fuses with identical ratings.
  • Replace control module: If correct voltage reaches the control but the display is dead and the motor does not energize, the Rheem control module is likely defective.
